During the Middle Ages, the only food people ate was the one that was found on the manor grounds or found in the nearby forests at least for peasants. For the wealthy, the field grains were raised which were later used in making baked goods. The only meat allowed to eat was the one that was hunted in the manor forests. The drinks drank were wine, mead and ale made from crab apples and unripe grapes.
