Quick Overview

The Green Man tapestry has a wonderful design of the Celtic symbol - Green man. The tapestry is covered with leaves, with a Green man featured in the middle of the tapestry. On each side of the head of Green man is another symbol typical of Celtic culture, the Celtic knotwork. The Green man tapestry is made of 100- cotton, pre-shrunk, machine washable and color-fast. The size of the tapestry is 80" x 100".

The Green man is a symbol of unknown origin common in the British Isles. The Green man is represented as a man with foliage for hair, usually with either leafy beard or with leaves growing out of his mouth and his nose. The Green Man is often perceived as an ancient Celtic symbol. In Celtic mythology, he is a god of spring and summer. He disappears and returns year after year, century after century, acting out themes of death and resurrection.
