New Imperium Polearm

New Imperium Polearm was developed to counter attack the katana. 20" high carbon steel head has four parrying hooks surmounted by 18" cutting blade. The wood shaft of the Imperium Polearm has a dark finish and is wrapped with studded leather for a good grip. Butt cap has a small axe shaped blade for back cuts. The overall length of the New Imperium Polearm is 67".
Imperium, in broad sense, means power. It could also apply to people, referring to 'power status' or authority.
A polearm is a close combat weapon. The purpose of using polearms is to either increase striking power when the weapon is swung or extend reach. The use of polearms is very old; the first use of them dates back to Stone Age. They were relatively easy to make and use – they are derived from hunting and agricultural tools.
