Broadsword Frog
|
Broadsword Frog is hand crafted of durable, full grain leather replete with nickel plated, metal studs. The Broadsword Frog features an ingenious dual strap design, therefore it will support both the broadsword and scabbard.
Slip Broadsword Frog onto your belt and adjust the two buckles around the scabbard of your sword to hold it securely in place. The Broadsword Frog allows you to quickly and easily remove the sword and its scabbard without having to remove the belt.
The Broadsword Frog is 4"long (excluding the hoops), wide 3 3/4" at the widest point and 2" at the narrowest point.
The term broadsword was originally used to describe the straight double-edged basket-hilted swords of Europe during the 17th through 19th centuries. However, in the late 19th century, the term broadsword was referred to the medieval arming sword or longsword in order to distinguish them from the comparatively slimmer-bladed rapier, smallsword and epee. The broadsword is still used in this manner today.
