Roman Oval Shield is a wood oval cavalry shield that is covered front and back with leather. It has a black steel boss and gold leather wings and lightning on the face and arm straps on the back. Roman Oval Curved shield measures 23" x 39" and is 5/16" thick. These new Roman shields are the most elaborate offered. Each is stoutly constructed of plywood covered with leather. (ancient shields were frequently made by glueing planks together). |
