The Knight Templar sculpture is cast in pewter and is 4.5" tall. The sculpture has a pewter base but rests upon a wooden platform. The wood platform is 2" square x 1/2" tall with the character's name on the platform. The sculpture weighs roughly around 1 lb and comes packaged in its own gift box with foam inserts. The weight of the product itself is around 15.6 oz.
The Templar Knights were identifiable by their white surcoat with distinct red cross emblazoned above the head or on the chest. The Templars were organized as a monastic order, following a rule created for them by Bernard of Clairvaux of the Cistercian order. The popular name Templar refers to their historical headquarters in the Dome of Rock, an Islamic shrine on the summit Mount Moriah in Jerusalem which they named Temple of the Lord. The Templars mistakenly believed that the Dome of the Rock to be remains of the biblical First Temple of Jerusalem.
