The Mini Rapier Sword is fine miniature of the larger Rapier produced by Art Gladius. The blade measures 9 inches and is made of stainless steel. The Mini Rapier Sword offers as much detail as its larger counterpart. The mini rapier features an emblem of the Musketeers, with three trinity symbols. The overall length of the Mini rapier Sword is 11 7/8 inches. The term rapier refers to a variety of blade and hilt forms. The rapier began to develop at around 1500 as the Spanish 'espada ropera' or 'dress sword.' The rapier became extremely fashionable throughout Europe with the wealthier classes. While by the year 1700 the rapier had been replaced by a lighter smallsword throughout most of the Europe, the rapier is probably the oldest European sword that still has a living tradition.
