Wallace Scottish Claymore
|
Wallace Scottish Claymore. This impressive sword with it's straight steel cross guard is a predecessor to the later Claymore that had the down-sloping guard that developed in the late 15th century. It comes with a full length top grain leather scabbard and the cross guard and pommel are solid steel. It is more historically accurate in look and weight and also the way it is put together. The tang runs all the way through the pommel and then it is peened (mushroomed) to hold it in place.
The legend of William Wallace will continue to live on with this sword. William Wallace and his band of lowland scots routed an English force of 50,000 at Stirling Castle in 1297.
