Red Oak Bokken is a great weapon for training. It is constructed of red oak and measures 1 1/4 inches in diameter. The overall length of the Red Oak Bokken is 60 inches.
A bokken is a wooden Japanese training sword, used as a relatively safe and inexpensive substitute for a real blade in number of martial arts. There are usually used in the early stages when a practitioner has not yet reached the level where the use of a real sword would be safe. Bokken is mainly used to practice kendo; to learn proper strokes and get accustomed to the curvature of the blade.
The quality of bokken depends on several factors. The critical aspects in manufacturing good quality bokken is the type of the wood used to make to bokken, the quality of the wood itself and the skill of the craftsman.
