Shelby Confederate Sword was carried by the General "Jo" Shelby, who never surrendered. Shelby Confederate Sword features 32 1/2" high carbon steel blade engraved with CSA, brass handguard is engraved and initialed CS, leather wrapped grip with twisted brass wire wrap and black finish steel scabbard with brass furniture. The high carbon steel blade can be sharpened and is ideal for display, reenactment or theatrical use. The overall length of the Shelby Confederate Sword is 38 1/2 inches.

Joseph Orville Shelby was a Confederate cavalry general in the Trans-Mississippi Theater of the American Civil War. Shelby was born in Kentucky to one of the state's wealthiest and influential families. In 1861, he enlisted as a captain in the Confederate cavalry and fought at Wilson's Creek; later was promoted to colonel. He commanded a division in Sterling Price's Missouri raid in 1864. He was appointed the US Marshall for the Western District of Missouri in 1893 and kept that position until his death in 1897.
