|
Japanese Sai Dagger is the exact replica of the 16th Century fighting knife. The Sai Dagger was used as a defensive weapon against the Katana.
Japanese Sai Dagger is a great weapon for display, reenactment or will even make an excellent gift. Japanese Sai Dagger features a metal (Zinc) handle, hand-guard and 12" straight black blade with gold tone Japanese characters. The overall length of the sai dagger is 18.5."
The basic form of Sai is that of an unsharpened dagger, with two long, unsharpened projections (tsuba) attached to the handle. Traditionally, sai were carried in threes, two at the side, as primary weapons, and a third tucked behind, in case one was disarmed. As a thrown weapon, the sai have a lethal range of about 20-30 feet. Throwing the sai was typically used against an opponent with a sword, bo or other long range weapon.
