Pirate Keychain is made of resin with a metal chain and loop. It is a 3D image of a skull with a black eye patch and a red bandana. Pirate Keychain is a very fun and functional accessory. Pirate Keychain is a representation of a symbol often used by these outlaws. Pirates used symbols that were meant to strike mortal terror in the hearts of the pirate's intended victims. They often featured skeletons (just like the one on the Pirate Keychain), daggers, cutlasses, or bleeding hearts on white, red, or black fields. The skull and crossbones motif first appeared around 1700 when French pirate Emanuel Wynne hoisted his fearful ensign in the Caribbean.
