1896 Mauser Automatic Pistol
|
Our 1896 mauser pistol is a realistic replica of the first successful automatic Mauser pistol. It is an honor to carry such pistol because of its authenticity, especially when it is also as historic as this product. The name “Mauser” comes from the German arms manufacturer “Mauser-Werke Oberndorf Waffensysteme GmbH” and also the line of bolt action rifles they built for the German armed forces.
Their weapon designs became so popular that a lot of other countries cared for them. Their design still exemplifies the bolt action rifle built. On July 31, 1811, in a small German town, Oberndorf, Friedrich I of Wurttemberg established a royal weapons factory which later became the famous “Mauser” and produced many popular weapons.
Finally, in year 1896, "Mauser" produced a design of another team of brothers, Fidel, Friedrich, and Josef Feederle as the C96. This new design, however, was not very practical because of its forward mounting of the magazine. This caused it so nose heavy that many were equipped with a small stock to keep it under control. Despite this fact, its unusual, characteristic “broomhandle” shape is popular and wide known until this today. The production of these C96's ended in 1936 and until then over a million of these products was produced.
While commonly carried by field troops in World War II, the Mauser has since been made famous in countless World War II movies. This pistol is important not only in its structure and historic complicity, it is a special weapon because it was favorite of a politician Sir Winston Churchill. Our authentic pistol was used even by famous personages like Nobel-prize winners.
