The authentic grip on this beautiful katana mirrors the originals in every detail. Held in place by a wooden peg and over-wrapped in flat cotton cord, it is covered with real ray skin. Manuki, tsuba and grip cap are of bronze and cast with intensely rich detail. The throat and tip of the wooden scabbard are of genuine horn. This is as close to an old katana as you can get without paying several thousand dollars.
